i am 37 weeks and am dilated 3cms... last night i had sex and when i had went to the bathroom i had noticed a little blood... so i put on a thin pad... and this morning i was still bleeding a little bit... by the afternoon it has stopped... but should i not have sex since i am dilated??? i dont want to do anything harmful... and i had alot of period feeling cramping also... or is it good and will help get my butt in that labor room

The cramping is braxon hicks and its normal and good for your late pregnancy status, sex actually stimulates cramping in your uterus.
Sex is awesome for you through out pregnancy, so long as you are not an at risk one. Generally its normal for you to bleed after sex this late on, since the cervix is thinned and especially since its dialated.
Worse case senerio you end up in labor.
Best case senerio you end up in labor.

I recently read an article that sex towards the end of pregnancy does not necessary send you into labor. I don't think a little blood is anything to worry about, but call your doctor on Monday just to be on the safe side.

There is a hormone in semen that is similar to what the dr.s use to enduce labor. (I attended lamaze with my best friend) sometimes drs. will tell women who are overdue to go home and have sex to speed up the process.
You have to be careful with foot massages too. There are certain spots on your feet that will enduce labor if pressed in just the right way. There are some nail shops that wont do pedicures on pregnant women.
But call your doc just to be on the safe side. the cramping/period feeling is good. Thats what my best friend described right before she started the real contractions. Good luck...and if the hospital offers you drugs....TAKE 'EM!

Check with your doctor. Sex should be OK. You may have just lost you plug. Which may mean the labor room is close. Do you have the urge to clean the whole house or cook a weeks worth of meals?

Although I would ask my ob ..I think that as long as your mucus plug is still intact sex is still safe. I know the last couple of weeks are the longest! Keep the faith and here's hoping you have a speedy delivery!

Its good! I am sure you are now more then 3cms and will go into labor soon. Nothing to worry about (except the impending delivery!)

Defnitely call your doctor or local nurses line. As far as i know its safe but best to double check first.
