12x + 3y - 2(3x - y) = 12x +3y - 6x +2y = (12x-6x) + ( 3y + 2y) = Part D is correct 6x+ 5y

7ab^3c^2 / 28ab^2c^4
(7/28 ) * (a/a) * ( b^3 / b^2 ) *( c^2 /c^4) = 1/4 * 1 * b * 1/ c^2 =
b/4c^2. Part A is correct.

we imagine x instead of that number. so we have:
7x + x^2 = -12
x^2 + 7x +12=0
we need 2 numbers like a and b that when we add them together the result would be + 7 and when we multiply them the result would be + 12
( x+ a)( x+ b)
(x+ 4) ( x+ 3)=0
(x+ 4) =0 , x= -4
OR
( x+ 3)=0 , x= -3

and Part C is correct

1) 12x + 3y - 2(3x - y)
Distribute
12x + 3y -6x + 2y
Simplify 6x + 5y
D
2) 7ab^3*c^2 / 28ab^2*c^4
writing it out helps a lot
7*a*b*b*b*c*c / 7*4*a*b*b*c*c*c*c
cross out like terms.
b/4*c*c
b/4c^2
A
3) 7x + x^2 = -12
Quadratic equation
x^2 + 7x +12 = 0
Use quadratic formula or factor it out:
Factoring gives:
(x+4)(x+3)
(x+4) = 0
x = -4
(x+3) = 0
x = -3

A is incorrect for number 3 becasue if you factor is out yes it is
(x+3)(x+4) but when solved for x, they equal -3 and -4.
