It ISN'T "PIN NUMBER", because PIN stands for Personal Identification Number, so saying PIN number is saying Personal Identification Number number, and VIN is "Vehicle Identification Number", so to say "VIN number" is saying Vehicle Identification Number number!!!!! AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!

PIN = Personal Identification Number (like a password for a bank account)
VIN = Vehicle Identification Number (but hardly anyone says VIN. They just say Vehicle Identification Number.)

Under 'Details' You state that, "This is NOT a question, it is a rant."
Since there is no question let me forestall the inevitable response. This is NOT an ANSWER it is an OBSERVATION.
What is the whole point since most contributors and yourself are already aware that PIN is the abbreviation for Personal Identification Number.
What would the checkout operator mean if they said, "Put your PIN in please." A safety pin or an ordinary pin?
The English language is full of idiosyncratic use of words.
e.g. "I, myself, speaking personally ..".!!!
"It is WICKED man." "Get a life", and to put it politely, just HOW does someone follow your two word command to, "Go forth and multiply"

PIN is short for inner maximum identity quantity and VIN is short for motor vehicle identity quantity...we are saying PIN and VIN because of the fact it truly is short for what they recommend and ppl recognize what they stand for

I knew what pin was, but couldn't remember what vin stood for. I know what vin means, but it takes longer to recall than pin does. I know both, so don't get angry with the people that know what pin and vin stand for.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.
Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

Luke comes from an old English word for warm. So we're saying "Warm warm", when we say Luke warm. When we say, "The hoi poloi" to refer to the common throng, we are actually saying "The the commoners", hoi being a greek definite article. As a former framer, I used to use and ATG gun, or "adhesive tape gun gun". English is replete with redundancies. If you're going to get upset at all of them, you better get used to being angry.
