after the zits dry and obviously die they turn blackish or very dark brown. some serfaces are really smooth and shiny and others are rough and dry ive tried almost anything. any suggestions?

proactive made it worse. it dries the skin, and the exfoliator causes irritates aswell.

The best way to clear up zits is to use moisturizer on them. The moisture draws oxygen to it which helps it heal faster. Plus it wears great under makeup. If you use something drying and put makeup over it, it's more noticeable. So the moisturizer keeps it smooth and flawless looking. My favorite moisturizer I get from a health food store, and it's called Alba. I'll see if I can find a link for you aboout it. =)

Editing here: Also, for oily areas, you can try tea tree oil (also available at the health food store). I usually just get the essential oil and put a drop or two on a cottonball. Works as an astringent too. Witch hazel is a good alternative to tea tree too.

Looks for ads on tv for Proactiv. It works almost immediately and is wonderful!
