I had sex on July 23rd, my period came the next day. It was 4-5 days long just like it usally is but it was a couple days earlier than expected. Well now I'm a week late, and usually I'm never late. I took a home pregnancy test and it came back negative. Why is my period late? I have been worrying about it a lot could this cause it too be late and I haven't been eating very well. Plus to my knowledge there is a small chance of getting pregnant right befeore your period anyways! Knowing my luck I would though. But wouldn't my pregnancy test show up positive if I was! HELP

If you havent had sex since your period you arent pregnant. You could be late because of stress, body changes, who knows... its probably the worrying you are doing. You most likely with the negative results and the period not pregnant

You are most likely not pregnant. A test would be showing positive by now. But there is a chance that the test you took is showing a false negetive with is much more common than a false positve but still small in chance. Yes stress and not eating well can delay you period. Also major weight loss or excessive exercise can cause the delay. I would suggest you wait a week and then retest with one of the more reliable tests such as EPT or first responce. If its still negative it may be time to go to the gyno.

I think you have a very very small chance of being pregnant. If you are usually regular, and you have not had sex after that period, then don't worry. You're most likely not pregnant.

You didn't say if you had sex between that period and the one you are expecting now. If you did, then maybe you are pregnant. If you didn't have sex, you're not pregnant. Give it the weekend while your doctor's office opens and if still no period, go take a test there. They are usually free.

Good luck...take care of yourself, cuz guys don't! They just want to have sex.

Remember, due to optimal conditions inside a woman's fallopian tube, sperm can stay alive inside for up to a week. So even if you had your period the next day, if you ovulate a week after that you can become pregnant. The rhythm method of contraception is not foolproof. Neither is pulling out.
