1. Uh, 4 years of college is a pipe dream. How about we not count the 4 years of pre-med (undergrad) work, and just count approx. 4 of graduate work followed by a few years (probably 2-3) of internship and/or residency.
2. What a pediatrician could make? Honestly, what kind of pediatrcis do you want to do? Private practice/family practice could net you quite a bit. Hospital work could be more rewarding. I dunno, if I had to guess, $80 - 100K starting. But don't forget, this excludes all of the insurance you'll need to take out, which can be VERY expensive depending on where you want to practice.
3. Pediatricians in general are doctors who specialize int he care of human beings under the age of 18. Within that category, there are generalists (regular kid doctors, like Harry on the TV show "Empty Nest"), and specialists. Specialists could be pediatric oncologists (doctors specializing in kids with cancer), pediatric cardiologists (doctors specialising in kids with heart problems, like birth defects for example) and many, many more. Just about any adult specialty can have a pediatric specialty. So the question is, what tickles your itch? Because really, there are so many avenues.
4. Depends on who you work for. Sorry, there's really not a better answer. If you go into private proactice, probably not unless you buy it for yourself. If yo ugo to work for a hospital or a general practcie, possible.
Good luck.

Perhaps you might get better responces if you pose your Q in a slightly friendlier manner. Starting up with "Don't tell me..." is not going to get you very far.
Smiles.
I hope somene can help.
4. Benefits. I'm sure that depends on whether or not your're full time. Also depends on particual employer.

When you say 'don't say look it up' you must not have a clue as to what it takes to become a pediatrician!! What do you think medical school is? It is reading, and researching!!!! B.K.A........LOOKING IT UP!!!!!!!! Maybe you ought to change career choices and go into something that doesn't require you to think!

I STILL say look it up. All the information you could possibly want/need is right there at your fingertips.
If you're too lazy to do that, then you'd make a terrible doctor!
