sounds like your "KILL SWITCH" the handle you hold down to keep it running might have a corroded cable.... spray some WD-40 on the cable that is exposed at both ends and into the casing as best you can then work the handle as per normal operation. while you are doing this watch to see if the mechanism is even controlling the throttle lever on the motor itself... because if the cable is not seized up then it may be broken or disconnected... is it still under warranty ? if so talk to the place you bought it for info on getting it serviced .

I have a yardman also. The handle that kills the blade/motor...Look at the cable. Go to you mower repair dude and get a new cable. the cable has stuck and the lever where the cable hooks to the motor isn't traveling far enough to shut off the mower. the cable always needs oil in it to keep it moving right..The first issue was the cable stretched, and now it looks like your neighbor wired the enable arm on the left side of the mower...

Make sure he actually hooked the kill wire back up to the coil.... (basically it connects the coil, to a tab the handle trips and grounds to the engine to kill it) you can just use a pair of pliers (rubber handle!!!! lol) to pull the spark plug wire off for right now.

My wager, if the grass is extreme, its getting clogged up with the grass clippings below. raise up the gaurd (the place the grass blows out of) whilst it stops working and look and notice if its open. whilst this occurs to me, I push down on the cope with so the backside of the backyard mower comes up somewhat each and every few ft to help get all the grass in there to come again out. additionally you ought to to alter the top of the wheels and do a as quickly as over on a extra physically powerful placing and then circulate back over it at a decrease placing. sturdy luck desire this helped.

Sounds like the cable to the kill switch is either stuck/broke or the kill switch is not working properly.
