Mick Jagger is ancient! What really amazes me is that for my daughters 21st she wanted tickets for the Stones Glasgow Gig and she wanted to go with her Dad who became a fan when they first hit the airwaves

I disagree with you on this one. I guess as an old guy myself (40), I think its great that the Greatest Rock and Roll Band is still going. I rank the Stones as my all time favourite band. I am guessing the next tour will be the Steel Wheelchairs Tour sponsored by Depends...

I'm 25 and I bought tickets the second they were available!!

No, I don't think it's sick that they're touring. I hope I have the energy to still doing what I love in my 60's. I think the best music came out in the 60's and 70's, unfortunately I wasn't alive to enjoy it! So I'm glad that I do get to see some legends. Like it or not, they were and are a huge influence on rock music. No, Mick's probably not technically a great singer, but neither are many lead vocalists of popular rock bands today.

I don`t care for them myself but why would you quit something you love doing. Who gives a damn how old you are!! I`m 43 and I still listen to all kinds of music but some of my friends are still stuck in the 80`s. I refuse to get old and I sit around complaining about things and have nothing to look forward too. Your as old as you feel and I`m going out of this world like I came into it , Kicking and screaming all the way!!! And unless you have been to one of there concerts you don`t know what a good time is!!! The people there make the concert and they are fans that would give there last dollar too have a good time at a Stones concert. Just like the Grateful Dead or Jimmy Buffet there fans are die hard fans and take offense to these type of Questions. So for all the fans of the Stones and other bands you think should call it quits I`d like to say and this comes from the heart--- ( GO POUND SAND UP YOUR A S S!!!!!)

I went to see them at Twickenham last Sunday and they were bl**dy brilliant! Yeah, they look old, but so what? Most music these days has degenerated into some kind of mass-produced sludge so I for one am glad of the few touring bands that still sound good. I'm in my 30's and there is hardly anything from the last 10 years I listen to because it's so pants. And don't even get me started on hip hop and "r'n'b"!

I think its great that they still want to go out and perform for their fans. I grew up in the 80s and love most classic rock, the Stones included. Concerts rock, and its a lifetime memory. Who cares if the group doesnt sound as good as they used too? Its the point of going there and seeing a band you like, perform for you. I give them credit for being ALIVE still lol...and not from age just the hard lifestyle and busting their humps and touring when they clearly arent doing it to become more wealthy lol.

They may be old but they are experienced, they are great musicians and great performers and so what has age got to do with it ??? Music is NOT a young persons thing. Music is for all !! If Mick Jagger was still part of a boys band you might have a case.

who is more sad, the lonely rolling stones with no lives so they only have each other and touring or the thousands of sad people who pay good money to watch geriatrics prancing around on stage.

If it was their grandparents or great aunts or uncles prancing around they would say, sit down you are an embarrassment and yet they are the same age.

some will say if you have it then you should flaunt it and make use of it while you can. I say fine, but there comes a time when flaunting becomes a joke and you really need to put it away and get a life.

Don't be ageist!
I'm going to see them at the Millenium stadium in Cardiff on tuesday and really looking forward to it.
Incidentally, Gareth F plays drums in a band. Gareth F is 53.

As they still sell out every tour there are thousands of people who think they should keep on rocking. Why not keep going until the end?
