I think it is usually a bladder development problem or too much to drink near bedtime. Some children have emotional problems that cause this too. I would assume this child has a good home life, because if not, this could be a problem. The best thing to do would be to talk to the child's doctor and most of all assure the child that it is ok if they have an accident. Buy some pullups and give it some time. Have a nice day and God Bless You.

Is it a new thing that just recently started? Then something's changed in his world and it's stressing him out. OR he's got a UTI - some kids wet when they get an infection.
If it's something that's been ongoing for a long time - then his bladder just isn't caught up to the rest of him, or he's such a sound sleeper he doesn't recognize his need to go.

There are ways to remedy the situation. Most of them involve at least a call or visit to the pediatrician.

Could be just poor eating and drinking habits. Children should eat supper a few hours before going to bed, and should not drink any liquids within 2 hours of bedtime. They should not have any caffeine after the middle of the day... it will keep their bodies from relaxing, and when they finally fall fast asleep, they don't wake up when they have to wet.

You can buy an alarm to help them wake up at such times. It has a cloth strap around the wrist, with a wire that leads to their underwear. If they start to wet, the alarm rings and wakes them up so they can go to the bathroom. These alarms are available in medical supply stores.

It's hard to do, but when they wet, they should come and tell you and you should pull the wet sheets off the bed and replace them with clean sheets immediately. That prevents them from getting used to sleeping in a wet bed. You want them to be motivated to help themselves quit wetting at night.

Often, they will dream that they are going into the bathroom. If somehow they can be awakened, and motivated to teach themselves to get up and go to the bathroom while sleeping, that should solve the problem.

There could be a lot of different reasons. Sometimes the bladder is just slower to mature than the rest of the body. Sometimes it's an emotional issue or simply to much to drink before bedtime. Some children are just such sound sleepers that they don't wake up with the urge to go. The best thing is to ask a doctor.

it could be many things. has anything changed in your childs life when he/she started wetting the bed?if not i could be a medical condition which happens, could be something at school if he/she goes i would talk to your child about it find out if he/she is feeling different about something in his/her life you do know they are very blunt at that age and will usually tell u anything u need to know.if your child says nothing about anything in his/her life they should see their pediatrician.it could be nothing at all but make sure for your childs sake.its embarresing for them so dont make to much of it in front of him/her.good luck
