Late at night, when South Park is up against The Simpsons, which do you choose, and why?

Obviously my choice is South Park. I prefer SP because of its irreverent approach to comedy. Since I am biased toward South Park, I am going to let this question go to a vote when it expires, rather than choose a Best Answer myself.

South Park.
Both are great, but South Park pushes comedy a lot further than The Simpsons. Sometimes it doesn't work (controversial doesn't always=funny), but you definitely have to give South Park credit for testing the limits.

the Simpsons because although they are way far from a normal family I think that they are more of a "real" family. They are not politically correct, but far less offensive to any kind of group, especially Christians. Not that anyone would expect to run into one of them on the street, but come Bart seems more like a person that most of us knows. Unlike one of the South Park kids. In either case those young people sure made more money than I'll ever make.

I would have to say The Simpsons. I am a South Park fan, but The Simpsons is just classic, timeless humor. And the don't have to be as crude as South Park. I also prefer Family Guy to South Park.

South Park hands down...the Simpsons have been around way too long and need to retire....I have seen some of the recent Simpson episodes and they aren't even funny. I love how South Park makes fun of current events and celebrities.

South Park can be funnier than the Simpsons, but the Simpsons is more consistent and more available to a larger audience.
that said, even though I think Simp is better than SP, I'd probably watch SP for the higher comic potential.

The Simpsons...duh
Seriously the Simpsons is a much funnier show and has a greater appeal to the general public. South Park basically makes fun of everything from a person's ethnicity to religion.
