It should be GLAD not as you typed "Gald" but I grant you it may have been a slip of the finger. But don't let these things stop you. Big brother was fab and I am glad that Pete won it. He was better fun than the others. Next time b4 you send, click on the Check spelling at the top of the box and if anything comes up deep blue, you know you got a duff spelling. Choose another of those offered.

I remain horrified that anyone wins big brother. The existence of reality TV perpetuates the cult of 'celebrity', which has in my opinion massively eroded the respect in which the true unsung heroes of the country are held. I would far rather a reality TV show followed an un-named paramedic for a week, in the style of say 'Jimmies' or earlier Reality TV programs than elevated to celebrity status an individual who lived in a camera-ridden house for a few months.

If I had it my way, there would be no prize for winning Big Brother's next season. All of the contestants would be kept in the dark about it, and then upon the 'winner' being announced, they would be immediately deported from the country for crimes against television audiences, never to be seen of again. Reality TV does nothing more than perpetuate the notion that 'celebrity' is a worthwhile cause, and that the work ordinary people do is somehow inferior to the work of 'celebrities'.

It would be my most fervent wish for the regulators Ofcom to be setting quotas on how much reality tv can be shown on any given channel. Only say 1% of broadcasting should be reality TV, and similarly only another 1% game shows that require audiences to dial a premium rate phone number to participate. If the programmes were of any merit, people would watch. Precisely because they're not, audience figures are less than what they were a decade ago.

I have nothing good or bad to say about Pete as an individual person. I simply regret that the vehicle by which he has been made a 'celebrity' exists at all.

I think it might be good in increasing awareness of Tourettes as long as people don't think he's typical to all Tourette's sufferers.
