I'm a goth, and I wear pastels and dark gray more than black.
Goths like to stick to certain historical fashion periods, like the Edwardian period. High button shoes are always cool. Dresses with lots of lace and tulle and ribbons and bows. Think Bette Davis in " Whatever Happened to Baby Jane". All in all, gothic is a frame of mind more than the outward appearance.

Pale foundation and powder, red or v dark purpley lippy, black eyeliner. Black wig (unless she already has black hair), black or dark purple nail varnish. Doc martens. A bauhaus CD for some atmosphere. Patchouli oil. Silver jewelry. Attitude. Have fun!
