i had a c-section almost 6 months ago. i was glued, and i hope that everyone can be glued. it's so much better than staples. it doesn't leave the little lines from the staple, and from what i heard, the scar is less prominent in glued situations than in staples. i'm so glad that i was glued.

i had both my kids naturally but my mother had to have c-section with all of us kids, and her last pregnancy 4 years ago the left a staple in her and it caused all sorts of infections and she said it hurt like hell when they took it out after the skin had all ready like attached itself to the staple. Here is a little article about the glue
Dermabond Leaves Thinner Scar Than Staples After C-Section
Aug 15, 2005 02:54 PM
It looks like a tube of crazy glue, but it just might spare some women a large surgical scar from a Cesarean section.
For a number of years, doctors have used Dermabond, a strong surgical glue, to close small cuts and wounds, especially in children. Now theyre using it in women who have C-sections.
Rachel Cahills first baby was breech, so she needed a C-section. Dr. Jacques Moritz at New Yorks Roosevelt Hospital performed the surgery like any other C-section, and Cahill delivered a boy.
Under normal circumstances, she'd also end up with a zipper-like scar caused by skin staples. Instead, Dr. Moritz closed the long incision with Dermabond.
"The recovery time versus staples and Dermabond appears to be the same. The major point is what it looks like and it tends to look a lot better with the Dermabond, he said.
The scar is smaller and closes quickly. Patients can take a shower right away.
The glue has another benefit in that it seals up the wound and forms a barrier to keep bacteria out that can lower the risk of infection.
"The strength of the Dermabond is very, very strong and we haven't had a problem in the incisions coming apart, said Moritz.
The result is a thinner, stronger scar.

I was one of the first people to have been glued in the hospital I was at. I was asked if I wanted to be the experimental first in that hospital.I was glued with my second child. It wasn't bad, and did not pinch like the staples did. I just recently had my 3rd c-section... this last one was staples...lolz.

Here in the UK doctors don't like you to have any more than 3 c-sections and to wait at least a year between c-sections to let your body heal properly to avoid chances of ''uterine rupture, post-delivery hysterectomy, the need for blood transfusions and a condition called Placenta Accreta among other c-section risks. In some cases, adhesions and scar tissue amount of scar tissue, as mentioned above, can be an issue and a doctor will recommend avoiding further pregnancies and perhaps consider a tubal ligation.'' Your pregnancy probably won't be ''automatically'' a c-section, they'll try do everything they can to avoid it first.

My mom was glued-this was about 6 months ago when she had a hysterectomy due to fibriods. She said it felt like someone had literally crazy-glued her shut.

I, too, never heard of the glue until I had it done. Boy, does it itch afterwards though. Be sure not to scratch until your OB/GYN takes off the tape surrounding the incision.
My baby is 13 mo. old now and the incision still itches sometimes.
