i liked:
the Mary L Couture Strapless Satin Dress
the Nicole Miller Seamed Satin Dress
the Sean Collection Beaded Illusion Inset Gown
the Sean Collection Satin Halter Gown with Brooch
the As U Wish Ballerina Dress
the Bari Jay Two Tone Satin Gown with Shawl
the Laundry by Shelli Segal Strapless Party Dress
or the Betsey Johnson 'Marilyn' Evening Dress
i liked these b/c they would flatter most anybody, and they are appropriate for the occasion. you can find less expensive dress that look similar to these at a department store.
if you aren't a curvy girl, don't wear a corset style strapless dress, it will give you a boxy, square look.
if you don't like your legs, wear a floor length gown.
if you don't like your arms, find a dress that distracts the eye away from them, or even a dress with sleeves. you won't want a shawl to dance in, so don't even try it.
for sleeved dresses:

i love the Matte Jersey Faux Wrap!
if i were you, i would wear VERY comfortable matching ballerina flats- so as to avoid doing what we all did at my homecoming- to kick off your heels and dance barefoot or wear fuzzy house slippers (it was trendy at my school- don't ask!).

something that goes with your eye color. dont' match with it exactly. once you have figured out what color, decide if you want:
hulter or spaghetti straps (or whatever other style there is)
next decide on how short or long
low cut or not
then go shopping!!
have fun at homecoming!
