Don't you think that when the phone has run out of bullets the detectives will see that it is able to shoot people, perform DNA tests on it and catch the perpetrator(s) There can't be many manufacturers of phones that can shoot people around can there.
As for thinking of a better one - what about a sharpened piece of ice as the murder weapon.

thats awesome... but what about messing with everyone's dna before they are born... so some people come out with like six eyes and 1 leg and some people are blue or purple...ok so its not murder,its better!

theres an episode of futurama..i think the first one..where fry gets into a suicide booth thinking it is a phone booth..and there are all different types of deaths to choose from like slow and painful, fast and painless etc..it is great...he is in there with bender..i believe it is how they meet.
