This depends on how you define "best." If you mean the best athlete, it would have to be Kurt Angle. After all, he DID win Olympic gold. If you mean most dominant, then the answer is Bruno Sammartino. If you mean who did the most to promote "wrestling entertainment" it would be Hulk Hogan. If you are looking for the hands-down toughest man ever to enter the squared circle it would be Bruiser Brody.

If wresting were real, I might actually try to think about this one, but it's just a soap opera. I got caught up in the whole Hogan-Piper battles back in the day, when I was a kid. Sammartino was pretty cool though.

Bret Hart- He was a fighting champion. No in-ring BS. And, since he was an average size, avg. weight, avg. height person, it was always a new challenge whether he took on a "high-flyer" or a Giant.
