It's not so much the death of Keith Moon (by the end, he was a train wreck which wasn't ever going to haul itself back on the rails) that will make The Who a sad travesty of themselves - it is the loss of John Entwhistle, one of the most startlingly original, not to mention downright ferocious, bass players in the history of rock.

You can bet it won't stop the cash registers ringing from people who want the petty pride of saying they saw Bignose and Daltrey in action.

By all accounts, Bob Dylan as a live act is appalling, nowadays, but I'd still shell out the moolah to see him - for the very same reason.

I actually had tix to see them on the tour they did the year John died, and I didn't go. I don't think you can say its the same band. They still sound great of course, but they can afford the best players, so you would expect them sound great. BTW- Keith died a long time ago, man. He was a balls out player, but certainly not the creative force in the band.

I wanted to see them untill I saw the article that said pete and roger are fighting because Pete wants to recored some performances
and sell them on itunes and give the money to charity and Roger
doesn't want to. I can see Roger's point, he doesn't want to get ripped off because it happens when charity is involved and it's not
specific where the money is going. Pete even set up an e-mail to
have fans send in requests to Roger. The quote I remember was pete saying "Roger is my touring partner, but we don't see eachother socially we don't talk to eachother outside the show". all I could think is "and I'm going to pay money to see that:?" forget that....

plus $200 a ticket?!?!? forget it

I always thought Pete hoped he died before he got old....LOL

Seriously - I admire ANY artist that can still (out) perform some of these youngsters....as long as they can keep it from being a trip down memory lane and make it a celebration of what the music is about.

Truth be told tho....when the Ox died in Vegas, it stopped being "The Who".

Who cares what I think? I don't think that the band cares. Why do you care? If they want to tour when they're 80 years old, then more power to them!!!!!
Even when someone dies, life goes on! You don't stop doing what you were doing simply because someone died.

I could see them teaming up with the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith on the "Attack of the Geriatrics" tour.

Who's touring? What's your question? Is this a trick question, like who's on first?
