yes she can work out during pregnancy. The best excersise is walking - it will also help with labor later on. She may be able to work out doing different things but she needs to talk to her doctor before she does. Most high risk pregnancies cannot workout so if she is high risk then no.

There are 4 kinds of exercises that are particularly beneficial for a pregnant mother. These are aerobics, calisthenics, relaxation techniques and Kegel exercises.
Walking
Jogging / Running
Swimming
Yoga and stretches
Low-impact aerobics
Remember though to ask your Doctor is these are really alright to do during pregnancy. He/she might advice you differently, depending on how your pregnancy is going.

Sure. You don't want to run a marathon or be in a weightlifting compettion, but some yoga (they have preganancy yoga classes) or some light weights and cardio would work - especially if she's active to begin with.
Most doctors will tell you walking is good.

According to my OB you can do the same level of exercise during pregnancy that you did prior to getting pregnant but there are limitations, don't let your body temp get over 100 degrees, drink plenty of water, no crunches, no trampoline.

She should ask her doctor. If she is an active person, it may be okay to continue work out a little bit less. If she isn't, it is not a good idea but a little walking never hurt anyone, pregnant or not.

Yes... walking is very good, power walking, whatever- light areobics and stretches, crunches might not be too smart.. but ask a doctor. I'd say that light work outs would be smart and healthy for her.
