Here's an answer I got from Answers a few months ago: (BTW, I recommend buying possibly Alexandria body sugaring first to get used to the technique and to get the strips. After you're used to it, buy some better quality strips off eBay - they work much better and are easier to use!)

Sugaring is a common hair removal practice. You will need the following:
2 1/2 pounds of sugar
6 lemons
cotton strips (you can purchase these at many drug stores near wax kits).
Tongue depresser (purchase at craft store)
Place the sugar in a large saucepan. Add the juice of 6 lemons. Stirring constantly, heat over low flame until sugar is a dark brown (carmel) color.
Quickly pour into storage container (I use recycled, disposable containers because this is definitely hard to clean up. The best are thick plastic containers that can be microwaved (thin plastic will melt!).
To sugar your legs:
1. Let sugaring cool until it is warm and spreadable, but not too uncomfortable (hot) to handle. (In the meantime, it is a good idea to tackle cleaning the sauce pan before it sets!) If the sugaring is too cool, you can microwave it - but stir it completely, and check it often!
2. Test the warmth of the sugaring on a small part of your leg. If it is not too hot, it is ready to use. If it is unspreadable, heat it up a bit.
3. When sugaring is at the correct consistancy (the same as molasses), spread thin narrow strips of sugar on leg, spreading from knee to ankle. Immediately cover the sugaring with cotton strip. Repeat until the leg is covered with cotton strips. (I like to pull them all at one time, after covering my leg with strips. My friend does one or two at a time and then repeats until she has done her entire leg. It is your choice.)
4. When cool to the touch and set (after about 10 minutes depending on thickness) yank the strips beginning from ankle and pull towards knee. Do it quickly!
5. You can store the sugaring in the refrigerator for a few weeks.

Hints:
1. Test, test, test! Test the warmth of the sugaring on a sensitive part of your leg. It is easy to burn yourself! Also, test the strip (by pulling a small part) before yanking. You don't want to do it again!
2. Always pull in the opposite direction that the sugaring was applied. In other words, if you apply down, pull up!
3. Don't apply too thickly. It will pull the hair (Ouch!) but it will not remove it.

Good luck! Don't worry - you get used to it quickly.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

Is yer dad or grandpa bald? If so they got the special wax buildup you need. Take a stiff putty knife and gently but firmly scrape a patch of the head. You should have a fair amount of human headwax just in one scraping. Do you have siblings? Their ears are a goldmine for the stuff also.
