It seems the problem is African American Men. Women get it from the men and the men are getting it from the men.

I think African American Men are overly macho because they have suffered more than other races at the hands of treatment and slurs that attempts to lower them from human status. Macho African American Men who are homosexual may not relate to education efforts aimed at homosexuals and therefore, combined with a macho attitude engage in more risky behavior.

Condoms as well as bandages are typically colored for the white race and it may be denigrating to use them for a black man. I think historically Black men reject health care in general, putting them more at risk and increasing their incidence of HIV infection.

Black men have more issues with economic status putting them less available to health care and education about avoiding infection.

If you put STUPIDITY and high-risk bahaviour in the same box, they collide a LOT sooner.

Education, awareness, enlightenment -- well, they are usually in a whole different sphere of thinking...

I can just tell you from my personal opinion, African Americans do not use condoms everytime they have sex. I have friends who dont use condoms with new partners; like they are resistant to disease. "Idiots" I think it is totally irresponsible and dangerous.

Because they are the greatest user of needles and they also tend to have sex more with their own kind so the situation is contained to their race.

Because, proportionately, they are the highest user of intravenous drugs (dirty needles) and also the least likely to use a condom.
