Well, sweetie, it really depends on you. Drugs are drugs in my book. But my husband smoked marijuana when I met him (I didn't know until we moved in together) and he never smoked it around me or our son or even inside the house. But by then we'd had a baby and were already living together. It's also something I've dealt with before. I grew up around drugs and compared to how I grew up, my husband and his "doobies" were nothing to me. And honestly, if my husband had been anything like my stepdad was growing up, I'd have left him in a heartbeat. But he wasn't abusive or weird about it. He was very normal and he kept it away from me. So I tolerated it and then he graduated college a year later and got a good job in which he needed to quit smoking because they did regular pee tests. And he hasn't looked back.
So it's an individual thing, sweetie. Is it wrong for you to leave him because he does it? NO. It's not. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And it's not fear that makes you stay, but love. But only you can decide what you really want. I have always and will always stand by my morals. I will tolerate a lot of things, but there are something I just will NOT bend on. You have to decide if this is one of those things for you. Just be careful--don't let his addiction take you down. If you get caught with him and he's got drugs on him, you're going down wit him, honey.
good luck. It's a tough decision.

My fiance & I went through this with his drinking habit. He did eventually stop because I pointed out some very good health reasons, but recently has started "socially drinking" again. I don't have a problem with this...I do have a problem with his getting drunk, so he doesn't drink to the point of getting drunk (or at least doesn't have call me when he is!) I guess in the end, the real question is, at what point does it bug you? Compromise is the key: tell him "It bugs me when you are high around me, so please 1) don't do it at all (this may mean that you do need to leave him, if you can't stand it at all), 2) don't do it around me (the ol' what you don't know can't hurt you rule), or 3) only do it every now & then with friends in a situation where it is not going to hurt anyone. Whether or not it is fair is up to you to decide--is it fair to you to change your comfort level, etc? good luck

You are the only person who can answer this question. Clearly you don't like what he is doing and he has no intention of stopping no matter what he says. If you are prepared to stay with a man who does not have the strength to give up a habit that you hate stay with him, but remember he has a weak character and you have no way of knowing how he will behave in the future with drugs and other things as well.

Question is Do you want to be around this drug? If children are ever going to be a part of this relationship ...Do you want them to think recreational drug use is OK. Do you ever want to be arrested because you are in a car with someone who has weed on them? or are under then influence of drugs? If you answer NO to any of these questions I guess you already know the answer.

You answered your own question.. you said that you cannot accept the fact of smoking marijuana.. and he won't stop. Sounds to me like you should already be packed and gone. He isn't willing to stop an illegal activity.. that says a lot about his character.. or lack thereof. Look out for yourself, Honey.. he obviously isn't.

First, hes going against what youve been taught about drugs. This is wrong in your eyes according to your morals and values, but the bigger thing is he lied to you and is probably very well capable of doing it again. So,it comes down to can you really trust him and if he lies about this, then what else is he or can lie about? If theres any doubt in your mind, then end the relationship or face the probabilty of bigger problems in the future. Good luck

Sadly, the drug needs to be a deal breaker. You risk arrest when you are with him. He'll occasionally be holding drugs, and you could convicted, just because you are with him. Plus, you already told him you can't live with a smoker. He chose smoke. Didn't you understand what he was telling you?

Marijuana may the most common illegal drug used, but it is still a drug that can become addictive. If he won't admit he has a problem and try to stop, leave. Marijuana addiction can be just as damaging to a relationship as any other drug addiction.

do you smoke cigaretts? or are you addicted to something? when you become addicted you have to have it. i would not leave him over it as long as you are not doing without things you need. but if he is spending money you need for food or other things i would, or if he is treating you wrong. but if he does it and you are not in need of things i dont see anything wrong besides the point that it is illegal. if he wants to take the risk, let him.
