The weather in Santa Barbara is perfect. The beach can be overcast in the morning during the spring and early summer (May gray, June gloom), but it usually clears up and is awesome in August and September. Also, it is pretty steady, there is no big temp change like most places. You can usually get around with shorts and a sweatshirt and be fine from morning till night.
