Clinton is not a conservative so why don't you ask why his party helped finance the terrorists through the oil trade? Did you think Al-Qaeda and BinLaden just cropped up a couple years ago? Hahahaha
Wonder how many liberals are driving SUV's? I'll betcha many, many, many. So you see it is not a conservative or liberal political trend....it's a human being thing, especially controlled by all top politicians who keep big oil in business for US tax gains.

They think having a war is showing strength, and don't count on it's recruiting effects. If Al Jazeera or the liberal media report some war on terror event that stirs up anti-American sentiment, their first thought is that the media is to blame for the reaction. They complain about liberals whining about rights, but they also have their own rights that they care about above security, such as the rights to guns & big cars. Bush seems to be going as fast as he can to reduce dependence on oil - short of banning any personal vehicle that gets less that 25/30 mpg, saying "maybe it infringes on your rights a bit, but since Sept 11, the world has changed."

The price of oil is decided by a world market (not the US). We don't buy anything from Iran. High gas prices are the only way to make the consumers buy more efficient cars. The only way to stop a person from killing you is to kill them first. You would probably rather talk them to death.

If you believe it's "conservatives" pushing the price of oil up, then consider that the price of oil has come down recently - why are conservatives driving it DOWN???
