Hi shynobi,
I used to have pretty bad acne, When it came down to why i had it, One of the factors was my sleeping,
Each night when you sleep, Your pillow will be absorbing that extra oiliness and bacteria from your skin, Therefore, Your pillow IS a breeding ground for all kind of nasty bacteria which will give your more acne, If you do this you should see dramatic results.
Wash your pillow, or buy a new pillow case,
After the second night of washing your pillow, Turn it to the opposite side to the side you slept on the night before,
Over two nights you would have slept on both sides, So wash your pillow case again, or put a fresh one on, If you keep doing this for two weeks you will see amazing results,
If your skin is oiliy before bed, make sure your washing your face with a cleanser for acne prone skin,
Neutrogena has a good facial cleanser, Its a face mask and a face wash, You should be using a face mask, to absorb the extra oiliness, I promise you will see good results from something as little as changing your pillow case every two nights

I doubt it but I guess it's possible that it could smear the oils but I don't think that would be much different than sleeping on your back. Some people are just born that way and naturally have more acne than others. Just be careful of using to many products. Some people make the mistake of washing, hydrating, drying, covering in cream, and Finlay in thick makeup to try to get rid of it. The balance between over washing and under washing is like a thin sheet of ice, look up a beauty site of something like that. There are probably a ton of Professional tips for especially difficult acne out there. Just don't worry about sleeping on your fave if it's clean. That shouldn't make much a difference whether you do that or not.

The way you sleep does not cause acne. When we sleep, our body temperature does naturally rise, causing oils to be released on our faces. I use to have the worse acne in the world, but I learned to keep it under control. Try white pillow cases (no dyes, no iritation), was two to three times a day will sasylic acid cleaner, and be sure to use an astringent (with sacylic acid). I hope you grow out of the acne, but don't be afraid if it is a life time problem. Keep your skin clean, use an oil free moisturizer and protect from the sun. Good luck!!

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

wow. you are very determained to keep your skin looking great!! awsome!!! and this is what i know: even if you wash your face b4 u go to sleep, u (well, not just YOU) still sweat at night and since you only ssleep face down, all that oil and sweat stays in your pillow and like wen u go to sleep the next night, u will have all that crap from the previose night. eww, lol, but i mean, u can wash your pillow case everynight, but that might not be ok, unless your mom(or who ever) washes things everynight. but unless you can wash the case, then ya, i think u can like try sleeping another way.

Clean your pillow case once every two days. If you wash it today then tomorrow night flip it over so you are using the other side. The following day wash it again.

Change your pillow case(s) regularly (1x a week) (oils from your hair settle into pillowcases) and wash your face prior to going to bed everynight. I cleanse my face with Purpose Gentle Cleansing Face Wash http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=16593&catid=21222&trx=PLST-0-CLOSE-MATCHES&trxp1=21222&trxp2=16593&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-CLOSE-MATCHES in the morning. It removes oil and it doesn't dry your skin out. Thsi face wash is gentle enough for sensitive skin...it is not harsh. Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=76497&catid=15487&trx=PLST-0-SEARCH&trxp1=15487&trxp2=76497&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-SEARCH is an excellent face wash. I like this prodcut because it can be used as a mask as well as a face wash. I use this at night. Best Wishes!

yea you should probably try sleeping a different way because the dirt on your pillow might have something to do with it

Nope, just keep your face clean and use Salicylic acid or Benzol Peroxide.
