Some colleges I look at offer a B.S. in Accounting while others offer a B.B.A. with an accounting major. Is there really any difference in the two? Will someone with a B.S. get hired before someone with a B.B.A.?

Doesn't matter.

1) Caliber of school.

2) Quality of grades.

3) Depth and breadth of classes taken.

4) Internship & leadership experience.

5) And your poise, presence, and speaking skills during interview

will be the primary factors for hiring in the field of accounting.

The degree is not what really matters here. It's YOU. Sell yourself to an employer and you'll get the job you want.

If you are contemplating getting your CPA (certified public accounting certificate) maybe look and see what your states standards are and how the schools you are looking at prepare you for getting your CPA.
