what is not good? I am married am so happy to be so. It's a challenge but worth every ounce of energy I have put into it. I get to spend the rest of my life with the person I love. If you are uncertain about the person it can be turn out really bad. I think if you go into knowing it takes a huge effort and that you can't give up because you partner is getting on your nerves at times, nothing can make your life more fulfilling(except kids, but thats a whole nother question)

First you need a good marriage. If you can do it right the first time, you are among the richest, luckiest people in the world. I have a sister that's 60 years old now, still married to the boy she met at 18. They raised a beautiful daughter. She and her husband worked hard together, as a team and now they get to enjoy the rest of their lives. They're very healthy, look like they're in their 40's, they are wise and people look up to them for advise. They invested wisely and don't have to worry about money. Their daughter married a really wonderful man who's now in the Coast Guard. They now have two really cool grandchildren. When it's all said and done, everyone including the richest celebrity would envy that life - if they could have it. There is much good about a good marriage. Marrying the right person - for you - is the most important decision you will ever make. It can lead to incredible wonders, or nightmarish disappointment.

A marriage is a relationship between individuals, usually recognized by authority and/or bound by the religious beliefs of the participants. The fact that marriage often has the dual nature of a binding legal contract plus a moral promise, can make it difficult to characterize.
If you are in love every thing is good about marriage, if you are not well story is quite opposite.

Mmmm . . . a worthy question, and one I had to ask before getting married. My husband and I both came from families of divorced parents.
Marriage is great because you get to know that other person more intimately than anyone else in either of your lives. Take the best friend that you've ever had in your life and multiply it by at least 10. It's one of the deepest longings of everyone's heart: to be known deeply, and to be allowed to deeply know someone else.
Marriage causes you to grow and develop a lot as a person, because being around someone who knows you that well every day is like looking into a different kind of a mirror. Sometimes that person brings out the very best in you, and sometimes the very worst! And if your heart is strong and of good character, you will allow yourself to be transformed by those "very worst" moments. You'll learn your weaknesses and become stronger.
You really can't get the same quality of that from just living together. I didn't live with a guy before I married my husband, but everyone I've known who has says that it's radically different being married than living together. The foundation of any relationship is trust, and when you know that either you or the other person could very comfortably walk out at any time, there is less trust, and therefore less investment and less depth.

First of all marriage isn't for everyone. It is a bond between two people that is supposed to be for a lifetime and if u can not commit yourself to that person for life then the marriage is most likely to end . It is about respecting your spouse to the fullest. It is about compromising with each other. It is about sacrificing some of the things you use to do out of respect for your spouse.Last of all u have to remember it takes work on both sides to keep your marriage happy and fulfilling.

You have a friend for life, achieve a sort of intimacy others who are dating cannot, you share everything - nothing is off limits lol, no stds, you stay through crappy times (cause you can't run) but the aftermath is rewarding as your marriage gets stronger, and lastly, marriage is great for tax returns (get more money back)! :-)

All the stated above can only be achieved if both people are willing and committed to having a great marriage.

Lola-there is many good things about marriage-yet first if a person isnt happy in life and thinks marriage will bring them happiness-it will take the other persons happiness away trying to keep the unhappy person happy.

commitment is important-and to be commited to oneself is the key and to know that there is Jesus first to be commited to. that way the other person doesnt become ones god to worship-that is a disasterous mistake.

when u get a 360 come to mine filled with princes and princesses that believe in Marriage one is only 14 all the way up to 61 years old a happy grandma that prays and loves her family-thanks alot and peace to u and persue the best-your the princess and ur worth a diamond ring.

to have one to care for and adore-to be together through the good and bad-a burden shared is halfed a blessing shared is doubled. i have been married it didnt work out she had anger issues -yet for the time we were married it was the best days of my life-and till i find the true princess i live in happiness.

do u know why God gave us memories-and dreams-so we can have roses in winter and a diamond ring on a princesses hand-stay grand -dont give up -your prince is out there be the true princess i know u can-david

It is a commitment made before lots of ppl (and God), a promise to always stay with and be loyal to the other person 'In sickness and health, for richer or poorer, for better or worse 'til death do us part' If that could be consistently modelled in our society wouldn't that be a noble example? It's because so many people fail to keep their marriage promises that the whole idea seems pointless, but for the few who succeed its a worthwhile ceremony, promise and lifetime venture. In the culture we live in however where if something breaks you buy a new one instead of trying to repair that which was broken its easier not to get married. Why bother if you're going to possibly divorce? but that's just negative thinking, to me to not get married shows a serious lack of commitment and good intention, rushing into marriage however is foolish.

Marriage is a commitment to work together to make both of your lives better. It has little to do with “love”. What we think of love is that chemical reaction are attracted to someone. Love really is a commitment to work together to make a better life for both of you. It has nothing to do with attraction, or that chemical lust! The funny thing is after 30 or 40 years, you have become lovers in the truest since of the word, Dependant on one another, and sharing a life.
Arranged marriages seems strange to us in the states, and other western nations, but there is a logic to that is beyond pure physical attraction. It is a reality that that physical attraction fades.
It is hard to live with anyone!

Well, that depends, everyone sees marriage differently. As for me, I think that everything about marriage is great. I have a wonderful husband who is the head of my household (my king), who goes to work everyday, to provide for our family while I stay home and be a full time mother and wife to him and our 3 children (ages 6,5, and16 months).

Not only that, but when I need someone to talk to, I can talk to him about anything, and most importantly, we love, trust and respect one another. When you have these three things in a marriage, what is not to love?
