Isn't it sad how people don't read history instead of believing the propaganda of the moment? I see all this silliness about blacks and slavery as regards the South. Blacks and slaves had no more to do with the American Civil War than did the Jews in World War II. It was all about money, the economy. Ignorance is a terrible thing, all the more so when people are too bloody lazy to pick up a book and learn the facts. The whole point of Lincoln causing the purchase and creation of Liberia was to send the slaves back to Africa. He didn't want them, either. For those people silly enough to applaud John Wilkes Booth for the assassination, Booth caused more trouble for those he wanted to help (ostensibly) than did losing the war.

Liberals don't know even ten percent as much as they think they do. In fact, the Jews have been the biggest traders in slaves throughout history. They followed the Roman legions, scooping up conquered people and putting them into cages.

The Jews were the ones who owned the shipping companies engaged in the "Triangle Trade" that brought Blacks to the Americas, to both the northern and the southern continents. In the early years of the Second World War, German soldiers routinely put an end to Jewish vice businesses.

In 2000, there were three arrests of notorious pedofiles in Brazil. One was a Jewish boy's camp counsellor (Leonardo Chaim). Another was a Jewish college professor (Georges Schteinberg). And the third was Israel's official diplomatic ambassador to Brazil (Arie Scher). {Correction: Scher was not arrested. He fled Brazil one step ahead of the Brazilian federal police and went into hiding in Israel. Israel refused Brazil's request for extradition, and so far Scher has never received any punishment worth mentioning.}

To this very day, Jews are still making slaves of women from East Europe and holding them in forced prostitution in Israel.

And yet look how loyally the United States supports Israel, despite being treated with contempt by Israel. Why can't the American Southern tradition (since it's nobler and cleaner) be honored at least that much? The reason, of course, is political influence. The Jews have it. The Southerners do not have it. The Jews own the media; the Southerners do not. The Jews own the banks; the Southerners do not. The Jews have the big, organized political lobby and a COUNTRY OF THEIR OWN, the Southerners do not.

That's why "people" look down on a Southerner for being proud of his heritage. Those people are human lemmings who will believe anything the Jews tell them to believe via their programs on broadcast television.

Oh good!! Most people mistake proud southerners with the guys that wear the white sheets and burn crosses late at night. There is a difference, and we southerners are not the ignorant, inbred trailer trash that we are stereotyped to be. Northerners think the only thing that southern states have in common is the fact that we banded together to rebel against the government and owned slaves, but there is more to it than that. Southerners are often well mannered and not snobby like those pasty face yankees north of virginia. We also have a strong religious background. The south is known for good cooking, good music, and damned good college football. We take life at a leisurly pace, not lazy like some yankees think. We don't get high strung in a life that doesn't last that long in the grand scheme of things. Our women are generally better looking. Believe me, because I've been places. I'm a southern jarhead. We southern states have a lot more in common than just slavery and rebellion. In fact some non confederate states have added theirselves to the list such as Oklahoma and Missouri. Not officially, but I have seen some shirts and posters that include them when they mention 'the south.' I think we southerners have a lot to be proud of.

As always people are labeled. I realize that slavery was a large issue of the Civil War but let's be realist, it was not the only one. And as for not being proud of slavery, your right not much to be proud of there but what skeletons are in your closet whether you are from the north, west, east or a recent immigrant from another country And are they out in the open as that one is for most southerners. Be proud of what our history has made us and continue to work on the problems we have yet to fix. Never lose sight of your heritage, but don't be afraid to change.

Of course they always forget who brokered all that good Slave picked cotton and made all the profits off it. Good old Blue Blood New Englanders. Crazy folks aren't they. Make a fortune off Southern Cotton and then go crazy with Abolitionist ranting and war-making.

As a fellow Southerner, I am always pained by the acute lack of understanding that most Americans have about the causes of our Civil War.

Slavery was wrong and there is no question that it is a stain not only on the South but all of America. Rascism as African Americans know all too well lives and thrives in the North as well as the South. But at least in the South African Americans know what to expect. Northern rascism has always been a bit of a surprise.

I am very proud of my heritage, I am an American! It doesn't matter what state you live in or what part of the country. To me the Civil War was a horrible thing for our country. It doesn't matter who started it! But slavery was even worse. It saddens me that this has caused such a rift in the American people.

I heard this story, I think it says a lot...
After the Civil War, a Black man went up to take Holy Communion in an all white church. No one moved. Then one single white man came up and knealt beside the Black man to take the Communion. The man was Robert E. Lee. And so we are all brothers and sisters and we should wish all of our brother and sister Americans all the best that life has to offer.

People that are down on southerners for their heritage are bigots. It's ironic that they accuse southerners of being intolerant when they're the intolerant and judgemental ones.

I am not down on you for your pride in your heritage. We should all feel pride in where we come from and try to come together on important issues.

Well, too often "heritage" means "we defended ourselves in the Civil War so we could oppress blacks some more". Not much to be proud about :(
