I went to the doctor to get some medication for my acne but she told me my acne wasn't that bad so she didn't give me anything instead gave me some tips. I personally think that my acne it's really bad and i wan't to get rid of it as soon as posible.

I have heard a lot of things about using toothpaste for acne but i don't know exactly how that works, Can someone tell me wha'ts the deal with the toothpaste? and if you have any other acne tips please let me know, i would really apreciate it.

Ok, that's messed up of your dermatologist to tell you that it isn't bad enougfh to perscribe something. Even just a few zits can be devastating, and quite embarrasing. I'd really recommend Proactiv. I can't tell you how many Clinique, clean and clean, neutrogena, biore, zapzyt, loreal (that acne response), acne free, phisoderm, just to name a few.... acne products I have tried. Proactiv is honest to God the only thing that I have found to work. If you do get Proactiv, make sure you get the Sulfur Refining Mask. I leave that sucker on overnight (even though myt husband can't stand it, because of the smell and the white ghost face it makes) it really works. I'd HIGHLY recommend it!

Even though it is a little bit more then wal-mart/ target-esque 'remedies', it is definately worth it.

Hope that helps!

To get the red out, try Preparation H (honest!) and yes, I have heard that toothpaste work because it dries the pimple up. I have never personally tried it but I have tried chapstick and it works. Other more suitable products you can try is Quuen Helene's face mask either the grape seed extract or the mint. Watch out for the mint as I heard it is extremely drying. You can also look into Pro-activ or take pantothenic pills which I heard works pretty good.

I never heard the toothpase remedy, but I'll tell you what I do and I don't have alot of money, but, I drink alot of purified water, excercise, don't eat sweets or lots of cheese, and get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Sleep is very important, it helps you regulate your hormones. Avoid stress, this can trigger acne. Don't drink alchohol, it diminishes your liver function and kidneys, therefore causing acne because the toxins are now coming out of your skin because your internal organs are overloaded on working to repair themselves, and not eliminating toxins as they should. Alchohol always makes me break out. Sad but true.

Toothpaste is supposed to dry your skin out, but it is sticky. Try old fashion soap and water. If that doesn't work, get some acne pads. They seem to work well.

If you want to spend a good amount of money, then I suggest you use ProActive Solution. My brother uses that because he had acne and it cleared his skin right up.

But if you want a not so expensive method, I suggest any Clean And Clear product. Or you could use Biore products as well.

I hate it when they say that! i know how u feel but remember it always looks worse through your own eyes... toothpaste is not the best but taking a cotton ball and dipping it into warm water and salt then applying it on ur face or the affected area works well.
