people do collect a lot of strange and interesting things. For the most part there are not too many things that I think are silly to collect as collections can have sentimental and emotional value or just be an investment. I do however believe that collections can get silly and motivations for collections can get silly.
People that collect everything because one day it MIGHT be of some value- especially when some of the things they are collecting- so is half the country- that seems silly. People that start off with a modest collection of something that they like, cows for example, then keep every single thing that anyone ever gives them that even remotely resembles a cow- that seems silly. People that insist on giving every single cheap and cheezy pig thing they see to someone that collects pigs is silly.
Collections that take over the house, are no longer tasteful and push what is useful and and practical out of the way is silly!
