Classical music will be around forever, not so sure about youth orchestras though.

With all the younger people coming into classical music these days, more and more youth will catch on to this. I am not a great lover of Classical, but just watching Classicfm. has been a buzz for me. Seeing young stars like Vanessa Mey, and Hayley Westener, perform is amazing. The young people today have so much talent, why do they use it on the terrible sounds they make.
Classical is the basis for all music. Try listening to it sometime.
Try watching and listening to "The ten Tenors" "ElDivo" "Andre Bottcelli" All young and beautiful singers. and dare i say, G force, is that the name of the group who did well in The X factor? Happy listening.

I do think (and hope) it has a future. It is all to easily dismissed by the majority of todays youth, and I speak as one of them.

Certainly there are fantastic young composers coming through our music colleges - there were some fantastic ones when I was doing piano at the Royal College, who doubtless will go on to great things.

A relatively young composer worth looking up, who seems to take inspiration from a kind of Shoenberg-y feel is a chap called Ian Wilson. Well worth a listen. (No, he's not me!)

It holds a great bright future, we use classical mussic as the back ground of movies, games, websites, commercials etc. just name. Classical music gives feeling to all of those commercial means and to physichology. There had been studies that classical music is a great strees reliever and makes people fell easy. Just think about the shopping malls where classical music plays as the back ground, people look relax and that allow them to buy more.

I think composers like Glass, Reich and Cage (perhaps the big 3 of thr 20th century?) have inspired a whole new generation of musicians and artists - especially in the experimental end of electronic music (warp records etc).

Check out an act called Digitonal - I think they may be the future.

I think you would be suprised just how many youth like classical music as well as music in the charts...most people I know like an array of music and dont stick to one Genre. I know with myself I love music in the charts , but I also love oldies 70's 80's 90's 2000s music as well as classical... pop... punk.. rock ...in fact most things ..the only music I'm not Overly fond of is Country and Rap ...but yeah classical is cool :-D

As long as there are bands such as DragonForce, Rhapsody, Iced Earth, Savatage/Trans-Siberian Orchestra then classical influence in modern music will continue. Trendy music such as boy bands and pop princesses and hip hop will forever come and go but classical music is timeless and still influencing a legion of musicians.

Classical music will always be there.... I think it will be harder to find composers from now on... there will be no more John WIlliams or that other guy that did other movies...danny elfman.... that's it....I think it will be there ... just in a real limited capacity

There will probably be a future if parents pass it down to their kids...but to be honest everything must come to an end.
