whenever I start it, a message pops up saying the local profile may have been damaged and then loads a temporary profile instead which means I can't permanently download anything on it.
In the last few days, I downloade a lot of compressed albums and this may have taken up memory, however the computer never said so.
thanks.

also-I cannot burn music anymore for some reason.

whenever I start my computer it says that the local profile has been damaged.
I normally don't have a log on/log out entry interface, so I am not sure why it won't load the general desktop profile.

First check to see if your hard drive is full. If so you'll have to delete some things.
Second if you logon as another user or better yet administrator you can look in the c:\documents and settings folder for your profile. Right click and rename the profile to something else.
Third logout and logon as yourself again and you'll be given a fresh uncorrupted profile. This will reset your settings but should solve the problem. You can then copy things like your my documents and favorites out of the renamed profile and into your new profile at c:\documents and settings.
