It is a good step-up from the Nissan economy cars. Whereas, the Acura and Lexus are merely overpriced versions of the regular Hondas and Toyotas resp.

Uhm, no. If you look at the infinitis/nissans, you will notice that they are identical on the outside. However, EVERY single lexus has a completely different body than it's Toyota kin. Everyone of them. Also, lexus brings inovations to the table....like an 8 speed automatic that has fewer moving parts and is lighter than the 6 speed auto it replaces!

Nissan is a shell of it's former self now that it's 45% owned by French car company Renault. And the Infiniti QX 56 was the worst rated vehicle in terms of reliability for model year 2005. Something that would have caused mass suicide at Lexus.

I would have to disagree with you there. And this comes from one of the biggest fans of Nissan/Infiniti. The reason I disagree is that I also respect the products from Acura (Honda) and Lexus (Toyota). They are all good and reliable products and so is Infiniti (Nissan). These three (Inf, Lex, Acu) are the only manufacturers that can compete with the best of the world: BMW, BENZ, AUDI, CADDILAC, and so on. These companies represent the best of Japan. And they are to be respected and admired for that.

infiniti is not all that great. it's basically a nissan in luxury, but not as good as lexus or acura. lexus is the best of all the luxury car makers in japan. acura is allright, but their cars are more of a sport honda than luxury.

true, i agree since if u mess up a lexus it costs u the repair price of a camry. Nissan-Infinity is the only one that is actually a luxury version of its parent company

I think Lexus is far better. The fit and finish is far superior. The technology is awesome, like the V-10 powered hybrid they are going to introduce in the next few years, and the LA-F concept V-10 supercar. With Toyota as the sugar-momma, the sky is the limit.

If you compare the three Japanese luxury lines, Infiniti is at the bottom. Go to http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/home.cfm to see the problems with Infiniti cars.
