I really can`t tell you why you lie...but i can tell you that it hurts to tell the truth weather if it means you are losing your husband/boyfriend or keeping you out of jail or anything i lie to stay out of trouble even tho you are not suppose to , but in the bible it says every individual is not perfect. Just because you lie dose`nt mean you are going to hell. It just means that you have sinned which you can become forgave for.

I can only be as honest as someone will permit me to be. My friends know not to ask me unless they want the unvarnished truth. People who do not know me well underestimate my ability to be very candid and frank about any given topic...but sometimes, when it comes to more personal issues, I will tread lightly.
I feel that they are entitled to what they believe to be true...and it isn't my place to project my own values onto them. I am always saying, "You do not have to agree with me, to be my friend" and I mean it. This promotes more honesty within my friendships. We can't always say what is on our minds when it comes to employers or co-workers, for example...so I lie by omission...I simply say nothing or avoid the issue all together.

It can be that and many things... a lot of people lie because they are afraid of the truth, they don't want to hurt someone, or they don't want to get in trouble.
