Heres what happened, I was once friends with a girl named Becka, until she started cutting her self and abusing drugs, she was thrown out of our school, end of story,,,wrong..I have always liked this guy Kevin, Not to long ago, i discovered the two were dating. I was mad as hell, not so much for the fact that they were dating, but because of what kevin was getting him slef into, i was worried sick about him, which soon turned to anger and worry at the same time. Now i just found out they broke up, but not to long ago, i got into a fight with Kevin because he was oblivious to what was going on. I havent talked to him sence. But know i dont have to worry, sure i lost a friendship, but there always is a price to pay, I dont want to be his enemy, do you have any tips on how to talk to him, or should i just not talk to him at all and pretend he doesnt exist?

Take Every thing for what it is. Past behavior is a good indicator of future behavior. But not all ways. Call him up and see how hes doing if he tells you to F off then let him go. If not then take it from there.

I don't think what you did was quite fair to Kevin. I understand that your motives were good - you care about him and you were worried. But, you have to see things from his point of view. People lose their perspective when they fall for someone of the opposite sex. Especially when they're young. Also, you were once friends with this girl so that means that she has some good qualities. You can't blame him for appreciating the same good qualities that you saw in Becka. He might have felt that he could help her with her problems. So, you might tell him that you are sorry for being so hard on him. It's OK to give someone your opinion but you shouldn't fight with them for not taking your advice. If they are oblivious than that is their choice. You did the right thing by warning him, but not by pushing the issue.

It is a touchy subject. Sometimes you just have to let people do things and find it out for themselves whether you think they are making a mistake or not. The saying is You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

If you still want to be friends with him and it was me, I would apologize. If you were long time friends, I believe you could still salvage some relationship. There is nothing wrong with what you believed. Next time you could tell someone (in any relationship) how you feel about something and let it go. They will hear you and then it is up to them to make their own decision. He appeared to see something in her and possibly he thought he could help her. He has since broken up with her therefore, there was something he knew that wouldn't work as a close relationship. Good luck.

If Becka was into drugs and self-abuse, she has some serious issues. For Kevin to be dating her, leaves some question about his own self image and what he is looking for in a girl / friend.

I would worry about myself if I were you. There are plenty of guys out there with healthy self-images, and life is way too short to spend it pining over, and suffering through times with those who aren't.

well yes you should talk with them because of situations people put them selves into, they need friends to help them out and find the straight and narrow, so if your a friend to these people, you should try to talk with them, no matter how much pain it has attached to it
