Robert Cooper said that it wasn't the end of Stargate, however he was supposed to make a statement about the new network issue. I couldn't find that 'statement' out there anywhere, and I was wondering if anybody else had found it. I tried google, and I came up blank. Every other search engine gave me ditto as well. PLEASE tell me what you know!! I am sooo addicted to Stargate SG-1!! That's my favorite show of all time, and I would love to know just what happened concerning the whole 'new network' thing. Thanks guys!

The "Sci-fi" channel is now claiming all future rights (or lack there of) of Stargate SG-1 according to their contract. In other words they refuse to renew the show but also claim their contract with MGM does not allow SG-1 to go to any other network.

We need to all fight back and make sure the show survives. Write to the "Sci-fi" channel and NBC. Email them too. Continue to watch the shows. Support the producers, actors, directors, etc. Tell MGM you stand behind them and still want the show. Get your friends to watch. Do whatever you can to save the show. Search around on the internet and you should be able to find some info for these contacts.

SG-1 will survive once again!

P.S. - Watch Atlantis too. I like them as well!

Stargate was a good show and I have watched it since the beginning on Showtime, then when they moved to Sci fi. It has been on for at least 10 years or more now and has more or less run its course. If another network picked it up, I might check it out, but I doubt it will happen. More than likely the makers of Stargate will be happy with the syndication money from playing reruns on local stations and the popularity of the new Stargate Atlantis in which the characters from the old series will probably show up from time to time.

Nope. What's more is that they can't because of the contract they have with Sci-Fi. It's horse sh*t really.
They have considered making it the first show to ever be solely exclusive on the internet. At itunes most likely.
(That is the loop hole, I would think, since the internet is just a different medium and not another network.)

no, no one has made an announcement... but a few things... 1st, Sci Fi is the one who decided not to renew it, MGM still wants it to continue, 2nd, it has been said that seasons 9 and 10 are like seasons 1 and 2 of a new show, the producers wanted to change the title to Stargate Command; Sci Fi did not want to change it....

If there is a GOD he will let SG-1 rest in peace.
If there is no GOD I can understand how it survived this long.

RIP!
