When a girl starts wearing makeup, its a sign of maturity, the beginnings of becoming a young woman. Most girls start wearing makeup in the 11-14 age area, but you can really start when you feel ready (with permission)
hope this helps!

As the parent of a 13 y/o girl I think the start of middle school is typical w/ the exception of foundation and powder. Young skin doesnt need this and the sooner you use it the more you begin to really need it. In the case of teenagers wearing make up....less is more. Just remember to always wash it off before bed.

I dont think that there really is an right age. Maybe if she has bad skin and she's in 7th and 8th grade. I think that might be the youngest I would let a girl wear makeup though.

As a parent (of a toddler) I would be comfortable with my middle school daughter wearing light makeup-- lip gloss, no mascara, natural color eye shadows maybe, and a little concealer. Anything modest for a high school girl.
I would definitely encourage her to use it sparingly and only for more special or unique situations.
