I would so he is lucky and did not contract the virus as the average person only lives 9.2 months after progressing from HIV to AIDS and the character was created in 1952 and is still "alive".

Ye Children of The Bush-Clinton-Bush Decade equate everything with AIDS - - - - if you read the original stories James Bond's cynism and daring was a reflection of his skills as a professional killer. Unlike YOUR generation raised on endless video games involving killing & murder, Bond was of a generation that harbored feelings of guilt over killing, thus Bond the Super Spy felt remorse over the work he had to do which meant that in his down time in the 1950's he screwed a lot of women while drinking martinis and gambling. In Modern America it is amazing that now screwing is frowned upon while gambling is King. Peace.
