Batteries fall under Class C fires, Elctricals, and there are fire extinguishers sold for these.

Use a dry chemical fire extinguisher.

dpends on the battery, if you are talking about lithium ion batteries you can try and use a powder type extinguisher, nut since lithium is a burning type metal you either let it burn out or find a class D type extinguisher
