I am a 5th generation Floridian on both sides of my parents and I have been all over the state of Florida and by far the Gulf Coast in my opinion is the nicer of the two. So I would rather live on the west coast than the east. One reason being I think it is far less commercialized. The Gulf waters are also not as rough as the Atlantic waters. Fishing is good and the seashells are nice on the Gulf coast as well.

I prefer the west coast of Florida. the beaches are sandy white and warmer water.

I like the serenity of the Gulf, but hate the red tide. So if I had to, I would choose the east coast.
