It happened 10 years ago and she is not the only girl to be raped and murdered. Girls, women, boys.. men.. it happens all the time and is never given publicity like this. Why is this case so different?

Some things helped make this popular, but I really just think it was chance. When it happened, where it happened, what else was going on around then (very little), lots of people at home for the holiday's watching TV, beauty-queen stuff, etc.
It ballooned from there

Men and women do get murdered all the time and definitely don't all get the same attention as JonBenet but anytime children are murdered they get national coverage. JonBenet has gotten more coverage of course because the killer was never caught. Law enforcement agencies use T.V shows like Cold Case Files etc. to bring to light unsolved crimes in the hopes of jogging peoples memories and get a break in the case. Now that (hopefully) her killer has been found there will be more space to investigate other lessor known murders. Sadly though there isn't enough respect for human life in this world to keep people from murdering at all.

It might be because she was famous she was a six-year-old beauty pageant contestant. she was so pretty for only being 6 years old.

JonBenét Ramsey held a number of child beauty contest titles, including (in alphabetical order) America's Royal Miss, Colorado State All-Star Kids Cover Girl, Little Miss Charlevoix Michigan, Little Miss Colorado, Little Miss Merry Christmas, Little Miss Sunburst, and National Tiny Miss Beauty.
so there was already alot of Publicty around that whole family.

Probably because it has never been solved. Yes, others have been raped and murdered but this one particular child was in a beauty contest and made to look much older. Perhaps the media felt she was exploited because of this. I personally would like to have this case solved. Unfortunately, we are all a little bit inquiring about things of mystery.

Mainly becaue it entices the public due to a sexual assault on a young girl. She's a young beauty queen in probably the sickest thing ever; kid beauty pagents.
They were also very wealthy and caucasian. This story won't go away.
