Why I hate Flat Panel LCD Monitors (satire)

1. The new Flat Panel monitor takes up less space, so now the boss will pile more work on my desk.
2. With the old CRT monitors, you can't see the dust that piles up behind it. You can see the dust with the new Flat Panel monitors. It's gross!
3. Hey, I can't put stuffed animals and action figures on top of my new Flat Panel monitor..
4. Since the new Flat Panel Monitor does not generate any heat, my office cubicle will be colder next winter.
5. The edge around the Flat Panel Monitor is much smaller now, where do I tape up photos of my kids?
6. Since the new Flat Panel Monitor's height can be adjusted, what do I do with these old Law Books (which used to live under the huge CRT monitor to raise it up about an inch and a half)?
7. Hey, I was used to squinting at the old CRT, I'll miss that.
8. Can I still be part of the litigation if they every discover that the electro-magnetic radiation from old CRT monitors is harmful?
9. I understand that the new Flat Panel Monitors will probably last much longer than the old CRTs. I was looking forward to getting a new one in about 7 years, but now I am stuck with this for 20 or more years?
10. HEY, I miss the Flicker that my old CRT had. The eye strain and headaches that it gave me meant more breaks. Should I be getting a raise in Pay?
11. The old CRT was about as heavy as a ROCK, with the new Flat Panel Monitor, will I be getting a weaker desk?
12. CRT monitors cause damage to the Ozone layer of our planet... without them, it will take longer to get a sun tan.
13. I will miss the out-of focus look, when I can increased the brightness on my CRT.
14. Since the new Flat Panel LCD monitors are lighter, is there a better chance that someone can steal it? Nobody ever considered stealing my old CRT.

Compared to inexpensive LCD monitors, CRT monitors will deliver much better quality with a better response time, however, if you decide to purchase a higher quality LCD with a high resolution and a short response time (under 5 ms) then the LCD would be bettern than any CRT. The only major drawback is that LCD monitors don't last as long as CRTs.

Advantages of CRTs over LCDs
1) CRT monitors are cheap
2) Usually, brightness, contrast and response times are much better
3) Unless you buy really bad quality ones, the rate of deterioration of the picture brightness over the life period is better on LCD monitors

Disadvantages
1) Bulky
2) Because of the nature of picture tube, and the throw distance, the pixel width doesnt stay constant unless you buy the expensive ones.
3) Strain on eyes is more
4) Screen effect is more visible if you are watching from a close distance.
5) limited to 32 inches (almost)
6) Power consumption is much higher compared to LCD

The CRT monitor has a cathode ray tube like television. This radiates some rays which are not good for eyes. Whereas LCD monitor do not have that and the display is soft

cathode ray tube monitors r quite cheaper than liquid crystalls
lcd's use semiconducters which r highly light sensitive...these have over the years gave crystal clarity and wide-angle viewing possible but the gratest disadvantage...
the clarity steeply degrades with fluctuations in light inensity...
lcd's r very soft and r generally not advisable for rough and tough use
they consume more electricity and hence i can make sure that my office pays a high electric bill

Longer life, cheaper to purchase, I believe LCD has been known to sometimes lose pixels, not the whole picture at once but just burnt pixels. I am not guarnteeing that though.
