I recently become an owner of a 1993 Geo Tracker. It did not come with an a/c unit. I am trying to install it, and want a complete a/c kit. I don't want to pay $800 unless I really really have to. Does anyone can help me find one? It is even worth spending the money one it. I mean how reliable is 1993 Geo Tracker that has 98,xxx miles on it. I alwasy owned Toyota, this time I got something different. I guess I have two questions that I am asking you.

Please run and hide that Suzuki Sidekick er Geo Tracker that just begs to roll over in rapid lane changes. Just $800 for factory add on a/c buy it now!. Plus with only 60 hp 1.5 L engine the strain on the engine. Scary enough right now pulling into traffic RIGHT! take away 4 horse power! The Suzuki engine properly maintained can go 200,000 miles keep in mind your is due for a timing belt right now do that when if you have to change the bottom crankshaft pulley for A/C belt grove or when you change the original cracked drive belts. Add to that old cars after 10 years dealerships manufactures no longer have to stock parts for A/C and add on accessories... Much less repair parts after 12 years

1. I hate to be mean, but your GEO is only worth $800.00, try a junk yard for the part.
2. You should have stayed with the toyota. You prob. have another 40K mileds on the car based on the now mileage as this is a 4 cylinder vehicle, and GEO's were not made to last-- that is why they do not male them anymore

Don't do it. Too old. Small engine + 4wd + adding A/C strain @ 100k miles is not a good thing. My A/C died @ 220k miles a while back. Summer was horrible. I have 257k miles now (97 Chevy Cavalier). I would love A/C, but I know it would kill my car. Think over this decision. If you put A/C on the car now, it will cost & probably die at 150k. If you pass on it and take care of it a Suzuki will last 200k.

It makes no sense to spend that much money on a car that will only give you more problems over time. Use God's air conditioning and put that $800 in the bank.
