Dogs by far...cats are more unsociable and i like big pets that can go places with you. : )

I have had both in my 42 yrs. I love both. Right now I have a very lovable cat. He is always wanting to be on my lap. Being in an apartment with health problems a cat for me at this time is easier to keep up with. Since getting my computer I have had to find ways for the cat and the keyboard to be on my lap at the same time. I have found through the years, if you get a male cat and have him fixed as soon as possible, they turn out to be really sweet, attention wanting, cats. I would not give up my JD for the world. That's another advantage in having a totally indoor cat. Most Landlords in my area will take an indoor cat, but a dog is a whole other story. Around here in the papers, I am seeing no smokers, no dogs, but cats are ok.

I'd rather have a dog then a cat. Deciding on what kinda of a dog though is hard.
