Take 1000 mg of Vitamin C, take a hot bath, drink plenty of fluids like hot tea with lemon or you can take a hot toddy: tea, lemon, and a shot of whiskey. Then get under the covers and be prepared to sweat it out of your system. Hope you feel better soon. P.S. Chicken soup really does help!

Herbal teas can help mixed with honey and lemon. There is an over the counter tablet made by a teacher with many natural herbs and vitamins in it that can be bought over the counter in a pharmacy they come by many names they are added to a drink and fizz up. Helps alot. I began to get sick in my throat last night and drank tea, gingerale, water, and V8 with some hot sauce in it along with pink grapefruit juice then slept alot the sore throat is gone now. I also drank the flu and cold preventative tablet in a juice water mixture. Also many health stores have natural drops you can take to boost your immune system. If you smoke stop or cut back as it affects your immunities along with drinking. Also smoking robs you of antioxidants like Vitamin C so take some of this not in excess. Other ideas are good too but there are a group of bacterias that like alcohol sugar such as strep so alcohol consumption is not always a good idea if it is a bacterial infection. Zinc is advisable but not in excess.

Start using Zicam right away. I like the swabs, but the other forms work too. This stuff is great and really works!! Also, make sure you drink plenty of liquids (water, herbal tea, juice, etc) to help keep you hydrated.

Use vix or w/e it's called. put it on your throat and swallow a small amount. and put some vix on your nostrils to help you before it starts out to become a COLD. I havei t right now.
