Heck no i say. It is just about the most confusing piece of shite ever and I'd much rather stick to using inches, miles etc. Why would anyone want to use the metric system anyway when there is something much easier called the American System or whatever we use.

Instead of the world trying to force the metric "system" on us the entire world should use yards instead of meters. And use inches instead of centimeters. Gallons instead of litters etc. No body understands that crap metric system. If someone says your exit you're supposed to get off on the highway is 10 km ahead you'd be like wtf.

I'll never ever ever switch over to the evil metric system. Even if america does in the future i'll be like heck no I prefer to do stuff the easy way.

Oh I definatley believe it would be a wonderful idea. The entire rest of the world is on metric. So should we be.
But I think it will be a long time comming.
I remember when I was in the 6th grade, hearing that we were supposed to fully converted to metric in 10yrs.
I have been out of high shool for almost 30 yrs. (Now I feel old so I'm gonna cry! LOL!)
It would be hard on us 'old timers' but it would be better for the United States in the long run.
And I guessed you are from the United States because the Untied States is the ONLY country that DOES NOT use metric (except on soda bottles)

You're an idiot. The metric system makes a lot more sense, numberwise. With the metric system, you guys wouldn't have to measure everything in fractions of inches! Which makes more sense "just over 3/4 inches" or "2 centimeters" ?

Hello!! :o) I appreciate what you're saying. In Canada [where I live] 'we' have been using the metric system for decades. It actually does make more sense - I think. But just as it is in Britain - 'we' mix up both 'systems' of measurements. For instance... most Canadians think in terms of kilometres per hour but when figuring out how economical their cars are - they think in terms of miles per gallon. Many years ago - when TV news shows would report that a prisoner has escaped - they would describe him in metric. "Be on the lookout for a 1.6 metre tall man who weighs 115 kilograms!!" LOL Many Canadians complained. "Do you want to catch the guy or just impress all of us that you 'think in metric'!" Ever since then - they have used the old way of measuring. It's fine to 'think in metric' but if you're not communicating with people - what's the point. No doubt - like Britain - Canada will continue to 'think' in both metric and the so-called 'American system'. Craig!! :o)

I was brought up on the American system but I can easily master the metric system as well. The only thing I wish would happen is they use one or the other - not BOTH! I have to carry twice as many tools to work because of it. I had one machine I was working on had an SAE bolt with a metric nut. Crazy.

The metric system is the easiest system of measurements ever devised. The only thing difficult about it is "unlearning" the system you're now using because you're comfortable with it
