Funny, I have belonged to the VFW Post 1631 in Concord NH for years. I was their 2nd Vice Commander and District Chaplain, so I don't know what poll you conducted!

The ones who open the doors are largely alcoholics and I suspect many have good reason to be! It is a self med!

Maybe you don't see any because you belong to the 9 am crowd who live in the past!

Many Vietnam Veterans were shunned by the VFW after Vietnam and the have their own organization! Now that most of the WW!! vets are dying, 1,200 a day, I suspect you will see Vets from other era's!

Funny, I never asked a vet whether they were Liberal or conservative as that is not a criteria for admission! And during the last election, Vietnam vets were clearly polarized!

Though as a liberal, I don't see how ANY VET could vote for the DESERTER we have in the white house!

Maybe you don't look,my grandfather ,my father and my husband are all VFW lifetime members. And they are as liberal as they come.My husband was a POW in Cambodia for 15 months,my father was in the Army first and in the Navy during WWII,all volunteers. My grandfather was a Army man too.My husband did 20+yrs in the Army.,we have many friends and relatives that belong to the VFW and are Democrats. So maybe Fred Sanford you need to look around you .We are every where.

My father was a vet and he didn't go to the VFW. He was proud of what he did in serving the country but that part of his life was behind him now. He was liberal and proud of serving his for the US.

I've belonged to the VFW and the American Legion for years.
I've never seen a liberal at either place.
No surprise. They were busy protesting instead of serving their country.

That's simple. By the time you can see through the bottom of your glass, all the liberals look like Holly Berry.

I hope you haven't been taking them back to your junk shop.

I think it's because they like to talk about being for the "working class" and the "poor" but they don't actually want to be invoved in getting their hands dirty. In all fairness though there are probably some libs at the VFW, usually around election time. Thanks for fighting for our country and our freedoms.

Maybe the liberals thought they could use diplomacy and got shot in the head.

Probably because they are the ones out fighting the war. See Kerry and Murtha's resumes.

If they're not fighting the war in Iraq, then they're busy trying to save the lives of our children in Iraq (like Kerry and Murtha).

I know a liberal, he fought in World War Two at Okinawa. He got shot there. He almost died. So he doesn't like wars. If you like war maybe you should think about going over and fighting in this one. Please.
