I have a squeaking sound coming from the right side of my car (I think front) near the tires when my car moves. I think this is the result of turning too fast or too hard (i.e. quick U-ey) Any idea what the problem is? (Don't say brakes, it's NOT the brakes, I know what those sound and feel like when they go bad.)

Have you checked the CV-joint boots? If the joints are low on lube (because the boots are cracked and leaking), this may cause that type of noise.

The only other cause I can think of is alignment.

I recommend that you visit a couple of shops (to get more than just one opinion) that specialize in suspension and brakes or perhaps the dealership that represents your make of vehicle for an inspection. Tell them your symptoms as specifically as you can, and see what they come up with. Many times there are shops that will check your vehicle for free.

If you say it's not your brakes then there is a good chance that it might be your CV shafts or your bearing's might need to be re-packed. Depending on what make of vehicle you have and whether it's forward wheel drive or not. More than likely a squeaking sound is coming from a metal to metal that's probably why your getting a lot of answers back about brakes. Another thing it could be which is pretty rare is that the wire lining in between the rubber of your tire could have unwound or it could be bulging, you might want to check around your tires for any signs of that bulging or un-even areas,goodluck-alex

Well, OK, if your sure it is not a brake, then it will most likely be a wheel bearing. They start to go out between 100K and 150K. Usually only have to change each bearing once. Good luck.

It would either be the breaks, the shock absorber or the ball joint. You should take it in and get it checked out.

Yes, it means that your working your tires hard, and you might be needing an alignment. That Caster word.

check the ball bearings for grease, looseness, or see if the tire is rubing when you turn.

GOOD LUCK!!
