I mean why won't they pay most people what their worth? If I work 50 hours a week and do 75% of the work, why only pay me 2% of what the company makes? I can barely pay my mortgage and have alot of education and experience, yet other people are getting overpaid for doing much less? Am I missing something here, what is wrong with this picture?

Yes you are missing something here. The big bosses get paid for what they know not what they do. I would suggest that you use your education and experience to start your own company. That's what a capitalist country does. You will never get rich working for wages, you will only get wages. I can't speak to other countries but in the USA the sky is the limit for opportunity. I have a high school degree (barely got thru HS at that) and make more money than a first year lawyer. All it takes is an idea. Go have a cup of coffee and start the brainstorming. Best of luck to you.

I don't see where greed has anything to do with it. You are getting paid what you're worth. The buyer, that would be the company is paying you a price you accepted so apparently you agreed to the price or you wouldn't be working there. If you think you are worth more, thats fine. But if you want to earn more you'll going to have to find a boss that agrees with you.

On the other side of the equation is your personal expenses that's really up to you as well. If you have trouble paying your mortage then you might should either make more money or buy a cheaper house. That really doesn't have anything to do with how much you are worth to a company.

If there are other people in your company making more than you and doing less, they must be doing something you are not. If you want to stay, figure out what it is.

Don't blame others for your situation. You control that.

It's kind of sad, but corporations started mainly to take care of civil engineering problems, i.e. fixing roads and bridges and stuff. As such, part of their mandate was to be as successful as possible for the good of the community. As time went on, the responsibilities of companies changed but their obligations didn't: in other words, executives of public companies are bound BY LAW to maximize their profits for the good of their shareholders! They are REQUIRED to be greedy, which is why the whole system should be scrapped I suppose.

Darwin said that - Sex and survival are two basic instincts common to all living beings. Man is a superior being, and wishes to survive better and hence the greed. Greed is not restricted to companies and bosses. Just about every one, including countries are greeedy. China is greedy for money. US for big macs.

If you get 2% of what the company makes, you're far better off than most of us.

It costs the company a lot more to keep you working than what they pay you. If you make $30,000 a year, it costs them around $50,000 to keep you employed.
Welcome to the club. We all have bills, most of us live from paycheck to paycheck. Nobody said life was fair.
