Alright I play basketball and I can shoot well but I just don't know how to get to the rim. Someone always steals it from me. I don't think my ballhandling is that bad cuz I am the best on my team at all the ball handling drills. Can someone help me?

seems like you play guard. to be honest, if you can work on your outside and mid-range jump shot, you dont really need to get to the basket. but theres nothin wrong with enhancing your game. well for starters your going to need help from your teammates. ask them to set good pics for you. if you by with a good pick, that can help you get to the last line of defence, which is usally the center. as you know, centers are usually the tallest, so going straight up for the layup probably isnt the best idea. your probably going to need to work on some trick move for your lay-up, such as while your in the air, switch to your opposite hand. this next one requires alot more practice, but when mastred is almost undefendable to the average defender. try when you go up in the air for your layup, and the center jumps up the block, try lowering your hands, waiting for the defender to begin his descent, and banking the ball. like i said, this will requre alot of practice, but i have confidence in you.

Look here, I have a basketball scholarship...listen.

Dribble on the side oposite of the defender, cheat a little...get "into" you man, meaning lean into his body...not to the point where your going to get called for the offensive but to the point where he can't move lateraly and reach around to pick ya. Also it is crucial that guards are almost ambidextrous, don't fear putting the rock in your less dominate hand. Hold your none dribbling arm bent at the elbow, firmly about waist high when you lean in...almost like A.Walker does..only as a guard you'll be a little lower. Do drills with your eyes closed...doing these will make your hands quicker..learn to dribble to balls consecutively (one hits the ground, closely followed by the other) learn to do it rythmaticly...I dribble a ball outside the car window as I drive around the parking lot. If you shoot well allow the defender to commit himself to guarding your jump shot then blow pass..as a point guard you should be thinking pass first, if your the best "shooter" NOT "scorer" put someone else in good position move around and put yourself in better position to get a open shoot..shooting is your thing your good at for the moment, know the type of player you are...S.kerr didnt have many drives to the bucket but he shot the ball better then Jordan, everybody won...and thats what the game is about...

If you can handle good enough to not get ripped when not going to the hoop, you need to concentrate on dribbling around your opponent. You say you do drills, the one where you dribble between cones, this one helps you 'turn the corner', once you beat you opponent. The key is beating you opponent. Once you get past him, even one step, that when you turn the corner. Practice taking one power dribble, and take one step to get past him, next step to jump depending where you are. Work on turning the corner, or lowering your shoulder and dip past the opponent. Good luck.

seems like its decision making. if you can handle the rock, dont let the people get close enough. you might need to practice from the free throw line extended and attack the basket.
also, lower your dribble.

just practice at home, then you'll get better at the game.
