My guess is that it is lime. My mom moved into a townhouse and they rigged the runoff from her air conditioner to drip into one of her bathtubs. She is not too happy about it.

Any ideas?

The drain going to the tub is a Secondary drain. The main is probably stopped up and the maintenance staff is too stupid to know this. Have her call the office and have the main a/c drain unstopped. YIM for Further info

it is just dirt, grime in unit that builds up. if you can get to unit pour bleach in condensate pan. the drain line is to be ran outside the condo. but if home owners assco. says it cant you cant, look at others roof tops to see where the drains run off. if others run off roof its ok.
